I have done a lot of meal planning and tried a lot of different meal planning styles. I have made a 6 month long meal plan, I have purchased meal plans and have flown by the seat of my pants. What I find works best for me and is the least stressful is to have pre-made meal plans.
However, making a multi week meal plan is a big task that takes a long time. As I said before I do not have a day or hours to dedicate to meal planning , so I have to do it a little bit at a time. So here is the simplest way I’ve found to make a six, ten or even a fifty two week long meal plan.
First, determine how many weeks you want to have planned out. Then you simply keep your old meal plans in a binder. Yep, it’s really that simple if you keep all of your meal plans for six weeks you would have six weeks of personalized meal plans. If you keep it for 52 weeks you would have enough meal plans for a year!
Now when I make my meal plans I really like to have my grocery lists done also. So when I make my 6 week meal plan I also keep the grocery list that I make. So now I have both the meal plan and the grocery list. I also type them up place them both in a binder.
I’m not sure I mentioned the fact that I use 3 grocery lists when I am shopping. I have a list that has everything we get every time we go to the store. This list also includes all staples, snacks, lunches and breakfasts. I simply take an inventory before I leave and then I buy whatever we still need from the list. I would do the same thing with my dinner grocery list.
So how do you grocery create a long range meal plan?
